II.        Videoconference with Gerda Weismann Klein Tuesday Nov. 16th, 12:00-2:15

a.     Stand Up, Speak Out, Lend a Hand, Nov. 16 (B-day), 12:00-2:15pm

                                                              i.      A conversation with Holocaust survivor Gerda Weissman Klein who has written All But My Life. This is a moving experience and an opportunity to connect with someone who experienced the horrors of World War II first-hand.  We will watch her documentary from 12-1.  The videoconference will be from 12-2:20pm. b.     This event is followed by a community service project.

c.      If are interested but did not sign up, today is the last day. Get a pass from Ms. Stafford After the meeting.

 

 

III.     Miami Dade Book Fair: Friday, November 19th from 7:30am-2:20

a.     Field Trip form with signatures from periods 1, 3, 5

b.     $5.00

c.      There are a couple of spots open if you’re interested.

 

 

IV.     Fundraising: Ed Bucks

a.     Each member is required to sell two booklets.

b.     You may request more booklets! The member who sells the most will receive a $25 gift card to Borders Book Store.

c.      It works like this:

                                                              i.      You  sell a booklet of 60 Ed Bucks for $10.00. 

                                                            ii.      Each Ed Buck equal $1.00 at participating business.

                                                          iii.       (see  www.SpendforEd.org  and look under “Business Directory” for complete list of participating businesses)

                                                         iv.      Can be used at places like Dunkin Donuts, Johnny Rockets, Au Bon Pan, Milams, Navarro, Ibiley School Uniforms, and more.

                                                           v.      Money due: December 15th.

 

V.       Decorate the Media Center for the Holidays: After school

a.     Monday, November 29th from 2:30-4:00 

b.     Bring a snack to share and come with your holiday spirit!

 

VI.     Field Trip to South Miami K-8: Wednesday, Dec. 15th (A-Day), 7:45-12:00

a.     We will be reading to first graders and sorting toys from their toy drive.

b.     Field trip forms to be given at next meeting.

 

VII.  Next Meeting: Friday, December 3rd during both lunches in the Media Center.
